League Rules

Unless otherwise stated, the league uses the National Federation of High School Association rules. These are standard high school rules. (We do not honor California's modifications.) Our rule changes are grouped by subject and accessed by the menu on the left.

Referees: The referees are in charge of every game and MUST be afforded respect and not abused. It is the responsibility of the coaches to see that no abuse from coaches, players or parents is made toward the referees. (This includes "working" the referees.) Technical fouls may be called against coaches, players, or indirect to the coach for parents if abuse occurs. If two technical fouls are made against a team in any one game a forfeit may be declared by the gym supervisor.

Prayer: This is a Christian youth league. It is our practice to start each game with a prayer at center court. It is also our practice to have a short prayer time at either the beginning or end of each practice. Lives are touched by prayer. (As a Christian league and not just a religious league, prayers should acknowledge the deity of Jesus Christ as our only mediator.)

Additional deviations from NFHS authorized by the league commissioners include but are not limited to: roster corrections may be made in the scorebook at any time without penalty; player numbers issued by the league are acceptable; injured players may remain in the game following a visit from their coach; score may be final without the officials leaving the confines of the playing area; rules may be adjusted to favor a team well behind (e.g., fixing AP arrow).
